This transformation project took place on a major North Sea asset and focused on optimising a 5-month offshore campaign through the deployment of Lean and Agile tools, which included 3 months preparatory work. The client sought to build on previous years’ success and drive even greater operational efficiency, safety, and productivity across multiple contractors and work scopes.
PBI supported the campaign with on-the-ground coaching from the readiness phase through to execution. A campaign room and daily huddle routines were introduced, enabling multi-level visibility and improved interface management. Key interventions included two major Kaizen events focused on critical scopes: a gas turbine installation and seawater lift pump replacement.
The objective was to return time, reduce risk, and enable safe acceleration of activity. Teams applied value stream mapping, set-up reduction, and continuous improvement principles - resulting in 57,000 staff hours returned and £39.8M in OPEX and CAPEX savings over 36 months. These outcomes were driven by internal leadership capability, empowered teams, and an embedded culture of performance improvement.
